Commission a Story
Every story starts with time. Not a script, not a pitch deck, just enough time in a place to let something true surface on its own.
Whether you're an individual with a story that deserves to be told well, or an organization looking to put a real face on your mission, this is where that starts.
Because everyone has a story worth telling.
-
A single day. A single subject. One true moment, captured well.
For stories that live in a single afternoon: a craftsperson at work, a small business owner, a moment in a season.
One shoot day, on location
One subject, one primary interview
Observational b-roll woven through
3–5 minute finished film
One round of revisions
Delivered in your choice of vertical or horizontal, ready for web and social
Starting at $2,100
Best for individuals and small organizations who want a short, honest piece without a long production timeline.
-
Two to three days with someone. Enough time for the guard to come down.
This is the heart of what we do: the Nick, Texas model. Enough time on location for a subject to stop performing for the camera and start just living in front of it.
2–3 shoot days, same location or a small radius
Up to two subjects or a subject and their community
Deeper interview work, revisited across multiple sessions
Rich observational footage: hands, routines, the in-between moments
6–10 minute finished film
Two rounds of revisions
A 60–90 second social cutdown included
Starting at $4,800
Best for arts organizations, nonprofits, and individuals commissioning a piece meant to represent a person, program, or place with real depth.
-
Three days. A subject and the world around them.
For stories that outgrow a single relationship on screen: a person and their community, a business and the people who built it, a place and everyone who's passed through it.
3 shoot days, one primary subject with room to bring in their surrounding people, place, or community
Extended interview work across multiple sessions
Layered observational footage across more than one location
Light original sound design
10–14 minute finished film
Two rounds of revisions
A trailer cut and one social cutdown included
Starting at $6,800
Best for organizations or individuals whose story needs more than one relationship on screen, but doesn't yet need a full ensemble or multi-season timeline.
-
A fuller immersion. The kind of access a feature-length story needs to breathe.
For subjects and organizations with a story too large for a single sitting: a season of work, a program's full arc, a life that needs more than ten minutes to hold.
4–5 shoot days, scheduled across the timeline that fits your story (a season, a project's run, a series of events)
Multiple subjects or a full ensemble
Layered interviews and return visits as the story develops
Original sound design and score consideration
12–20 minute finished film, festival and grant submission-ready master
Three rounds of revisions
A trailer cut and two social cutdowns included
Starting at $9,500
Best for institutions, grant-funded projects, and organizations building toward festival submission or a lasting archival piece.
Stories that need more than 5 shoot days, a full season, a multi-part series, a longer archival project, are scoped individually. Contact us for a custom quote.
How It Starts
Every project begins with a conversation, not a contract. We talk about the story you want told, who it belongs to, and how much time it actually needs. From there, we build a shoot plan around your subject's real life and schedule rather than the other way around.
Some stories are shot in a day. Some need a season. We'll tell you honestly which one yours is before you commit to anything.
